Fundraising for building a new Awam Kungarawa (teaching center)
in Ngagyur Kyenpo (Jewo) Monastery in Tibet

Today we commence the second stage of fundraising for our new Awam Kungarawa Building (teaching center) at Jewo Monastery. This is the Stage 2 fundraising project. In June 2024, we had the extreme fortune to receive RMB$120,000 from Awam Taiwan Sangha organised by Lopon Kunzang Namgyal. This large amount enabled us to fully complete the Stage 1 Foundation work for Awam Kungarawa in October 2024 (before winter). This amount also included other minor sponsors from around the world.
The Stage 2 construction of the Awam Kungarawa will require an approximately 1,250,000 - 1,300,000 Chinese yuan (about $180K in US, so your donation will go much further than you might think). This stage will involve heavy construction work of the building both exterior and interior and also the outer and inner decoration of the Kungarawa. The duration to complete the second stage construction will largely depend on the donation amounts we receive this year and early 2026. We aim to complete the Kungarawa as soon as possible so the monks in Jewo Monastery can relocate (due to the increasing number of monks joining Jewo Monastery) to the new Kungarawa and to continue with their daily studies and practices.
An appeal letter and video message by Abbot Khenpo Lhokyab with the detailed breakdown of the costs of Stage 2 construction can be found at: https://awamtibet.org/appeal/ Please consider a generous offer, or any amount you are able. Secured donations may be made here: https://awamtibet.org/donate/
