Fundraising for building a new Awam Kungarawa (teaching center)
at Ngagyur Kyenpo Monastery in Tibet

Ngagyur Khenpo Monastery has a 179-year old history with accomplished great Nyingmapa masters and khenpos, including the great Terton Padma Dragnag Lingpa, the predecessor of our current Root Guru H.H. Khenchen Lama Rinpoche. Our worldwide branches include Awam dharma centers in the West and Europe, and Awam-affiliated establishments in Qinghai and Lijiang, Yunnan province.
Construction of the "Awam Kungarawa" (teaching center) was initiated by His Holiness March 2024. His vision is to build the center next to the Monastery to accommodate the increase in the number of monks for meditation practice and retreats.
Stage 1 was completed in October 2024 before winter with a large donation of RMB$120,000 from Awam Taiwan Sangha, organized by Lopon Kunzang Namgyal and other sponsors from around the world. This enabled completion of the foundation.
Stage 2 construction of the Awam Kungarawa will require an approximately 1,250,000 - 1,300,000 Chinese yuan (about $180K in US) for heavy construction of both exterior and interior, including purchasing sand, cement, steel bars, floor bricks, heating materials, wires and sockets, windows, lighting, and decoration items. Please consider a generous offer, or any amount you are able.
A video message from Abbot Khenpo Lhokyab with the detailed breakdown of the costs of Stage 2 construction can be found at: https://awamtibet.org/appeal/
